Museo del Tesoro is a cultural institution dedicated to promote and disseminate the art and techniques in precious metals and gemstones of Bolivia

Museo del Tesoro is a private institution and does not receive any funding from the Bolivian state or foreign cooperation. All the income of the museum comes from the tickets of the visits to the museum.


History of the museum
The museum is the result of a passion. It was conceived in 1990, when the project was formulated by the family Morales Torricos.
Since then, the museum collections bengan to grow.

In 2006, after intense search, they managed to buy the ideal building, a big house with neoclasical style, in the downtown of Sucre. In 2007 and 2008, the house was completely restored and refurbished.
In 2012 started the museological installation itself, in an uninterrupted work that took three years. Finally, the museum was inaugurated and opened to the public in 2015.
